Ben Underwood
Sr. CAD Designer
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear colleague, Ben Underwood. Ben graduated from Virginia Tech in 1984 and moved to the Williamsburg area. From 1995-1997, he worked with Michael Nice at AES Consulting Engineers. In 2007, Ben was hired on at George Nice & Sons, Inc. as our Sr. CAD Designer. He remained a dedicated and indispensable member of our team until his passing on 10/29/2023.
His knowledge and expertise was relied on heavily by not just the field staff but also the owners of the company. His contributions will be remembered for years to come.
We dedicate the following poem to his memory:
The Fallen Limb
A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me.”
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
