Work at Huntington Pointe – a 200-acre New Urbanism walkable community – is in full swing in Newport News.
Huntington Pointe will eventually have about 2,550 homes; collectively a mixture of houses, town houses, condos and apartments in about 10 years.
HHHunt plans to build smaller cottage-style homes and three-story townhomes in Huntington Pointe as well to add more affordable homes to the market. The townhomes will start in the $200,000s, with single-family houses of anywhere from 1,600 to 2,200 square feet starting around $300,000.
These homes should appeal to downsizing baby boomers and millenials alike. “Millenials are looking for affordable, low-maintenance homes that can serve as a home base so they can use discretionary income to travel,” the article reads. “HHHunt had communities around the James City/Williamsburg area, but wanted to build homes where more people lived and worked further down the Peninsula.
